This help guide is for coat check attendants to use as a checklist to make sure everything is working properly before each shift or event.

1. Is everything plugged in and receiving power?

USB Power Dock

  • Check that the main power cord is plugged into a working electrical outlet and fully plugged in to the USB dock .
  • If nothing seems to be receiving power, try a different outlet. Sometimes, fuses are blown or electrical breakers might be tripped.
  • Ensure that all USB connectors are fully plugged in.

iPad

  • The charging cable should be fully inserted to the iPad and the iPad screen should show that it is charging or fully charged with the lightning bolt and battery icon on the top right of the screen.
  • Make sure the charger cable is not pinched inside the metal housing . This is rare, but can happen.

2. Is your Wi-Fi (or mobile service) working?

If the iPad is not connected to the internet, you will see a red bar across the top of the Chexology app.

  • Check your iPad Settings Make sure your Wi-Fi (or mobile data) connection is enabled and connected.
  • Try opening a web page in Safari to see if it loads.
 
 

3. Is your Bluetooth reader connected?

If the iPad is not successfully connected or paired with the Bluetooth reader, you will see an orange bar across the top of the Chexology app.

  • Connect the Bluetooth reader in the Accessories section of the Chexology App.
  • Make sure to press the physical “pairing” button on the hardware reader after selecting it in the app.
